The Moroccan Society of Bioinformatics

The Moroccan Society of bioinformatics SMBI was established to strengthen the promotion of:

•  Academic research
•  Multidisciplinary approach to teaching bioinformatics
•  Multidisciplinary approach to organizing activities on bioinformatics

The SMBI Society dedicates itself to raising the awareness of researches and research professors in various fields so that they engage themselves in the subject area of bioinformatics. This domain, a profitable niche in the future, can be applied to many fields, especially to biotechnology and medical research.

Through its contact with national and international institutions and associations, the Society is seeking funds to help fostering PhD candidates, organizing scientific events such as scientific meetings, thematic meetings and annual conferences; and to help in the spread of information in the field.

The Society, moreover, forms a platform for interchange and exceptional cooperation with foreign partners who, possessed of complementary and diverse abilities, are likely to contribute to the development of this domain in Morocco at several levels. 

The main purpose of the SMBI is to promote and encourage contact between researchers in the subject area of Bioinformatics.
